SUMMER AND WINTER THOUGHTS

THOUGHTS ABOUT SUMMER AND WINTER

I've realized that on my personal FB page I'm all about making Winter feel like Summer. I guess that sums up my personality (most of the time!) I've been through my fair share of Winters and grey times, and in the process I've learned that I like sunny days better. But if there's going to be rain - the least I can do is dance in it (especially if the one I love dances with me).

I thought I'd share my co-incidental Facebook themes and also a couple of songs that stick in my head that are to do with rain and love and laughter. Do you have any themes running through your life at the moment?

I USE THIS AS MY FACEBOOK INTRODUCTION

In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. ~ Albert Camus

In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger — something better, pushing right back.

Albert Camus

She acts like Summer and walks like rain - Drops of Jupiter - Train

AND A COUPLE OF FAVOURITE SONGS

SUMMER RAIN

- Belinda Carlisle

Somewhere in my heart I'm always dancing with you in the summer rain

LAUGHTER IN THE RAIN

- Neil Sedaka

Oh, I hear laughter in the rain,

Walking hand in hand with the one I love

Oh, how I love the rainy days and the happy way I feel inside

It's all about Summer and Winter on my social media - I love that I can choose to have a Summer mindset

  1. Hi Leanne! I loved all your photo pics and their quotes. Especially the Albert Camus quote that has always been a favorite. Are you getting ready for your "summer" now? We are getting ready for winter but because we live in the desert southwest it really is the best time of year for us. And yes, today is the first day of "cool" weather. ~Kathy

    1. Yes Kathy, we're heading into Summer - although we've had a throwback to Winter weather over the last few days. And I love the Albert Camus quote because it sums up how I always want to deal with difficulties in life.

    1. It's funny how we look forward to a new season and by the end of it we're happy to wave goodbye for a while isn't it Diane - I won't miss Winter!

  3. Hi Leanne I like sunny days too. The Belinda Carlisle song, Summer Rain, brought back memories of my daughter Rachel. It was her favourite song In about 4th grade. She and her friend would perform it with their hairbrushes as microphones. Every time I hear it I think of her.

    1. What a lovely picture that gave me in my head Sue - I just always loved the song for how upbeat and positive it is and toe tapping too!

  4. You're heading into summer and I'm getting excited for cooler temperatures and fires in the fireplace! I do love summer, but the past few months have been HOT, so I would be lying if I said I wasn't ready for a break. I am so thankful for the four seasons -- just about the time I get tired of one, it all changes! :)

    1. I'm exactly the same Wendy - we had a late Winter and it made a bit of a comeback this week - I'm really tired of wearing layers and running through the rain. I know I'll be sick of the hot weather in another few months and happy to swap back again.

  6. I enjoy having all four seasons, but I do wish that summer was longer. Living on Vancouver Island, you quickly need to learn how to 'dance in the rain'!
    Love your quotes and photos!

    1. I had to run through the rain with my grocery trolley yesterday Donna so I feel your pain! I'm ready for Summer big time - and it suits my mood more too (I don't do grey and miserable very well I'm afraid.)

  7. Our summers and winters are extreme - either very hot or very cold. That's why I love spring and fall, but each season seems to short. I agree with you; the key to find a joyful, happy attitude in every season. BTW, I love the Neil Sedaka song, too!

    1. I love it too Melody - and our weather is definitely not as extreme as yours. We have very mild Winters and hot dry Summers - so I think I always see it as choosing sunshine over the rain.

  8. Neil Sedeka!! Oh my goodness I forgot all about this song. Love it! We are just entering into autumn and winter here, although it sure is feeling like summer with temps soring to 40 degrees!
