Then the best diet is the one that makes you feel good physically and mentally. Unfortunately, in my line of work, I see all too often the results of lifelong poor diets, so I try to make good choices in what I eat. I focus on eating foods that will help lower my blood pressure (mine is too high), that keep my blood sugar in a good range, and that will help to keep me physically and mentally active and off medications for as long as possible. Some of the best diet advice I've read: Eat real food, not too much, avoid sugar except for the occasional treat, and engage in moderate physical activity. That seems to be good advice to me!Gena Cornetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07769100815550852636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4722898771124083282.post-61917826260248309742017-07-27T19:53:09.990+08:002017-07-27T19:53:09.990+08:00I like this, Leanne! Now in my 70's it's more about maintenance. ;) By not gaining weight I'm doing my part in warding off medical issues that come with aging. It seems next to impossible to lose weight at this age so I stay active and eat healthy.
www.meinthemiddlewrites.comMLQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15763833172922579693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4722898771124083282.post-87362842518810140622017-07-17T22:55:15.183+08:002017-07-17T22:55:15.183+08:00This is totally an awesome fitness post...Loved re...This is totally an awesome fitness post...Loved reading it

http://www.simpleindianmom.in/5-modern-illness-prone-affect-child-steps-need-take-immediately/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08335702311296329344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4722898771124083282.post-75437291063320011652017-07-16T06:59:37.241+08:002017-07-16T06:59:37.241+08:00I really appreciate this post, Leanne. I have obsessed about my weight forever and all that has ever done for me is make me angry with myself so that I eat more in frustration and self-disgust. I'm active, maybe 40 pounds over the weight I'd like to be, but treating it as if those 40 pounds were 400 pounds. I'm working hard to change my perspective and posts like yours are invaluable to that effort. I love a red wine and chocolate and my latest is Salted Caramel Ice cream - delish! However, I then exercise regularly so I keep a healthy weight range - not skinny but not in the dangerous category for health reasons. I'm 60 years old and have learned a few things: what my body tolerates, what I need for strength and energy, and what's more important than obsessing over my weight. I love the freedom I feel because living an active, happy life is more important than counting calories. When they were still quite young, my boys began calling one of their grandmothers "Grandma Cozy." I would be absolutely honoured to receive such a nickname from my own grandchildren.
