Sometimes I just need to unplug myself from technology and isolate myself for a few hours to get things done. The worst thing I do is put off writing because of my insecurities that my work isn't good enough. I'm working on tackling that because I know my negative attitude is holding me back from achieving and becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.Anstice Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06659015918272722407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4722898771124083282.post-34997441909076067722018-04-27T12:23:17.740+08:002018-04-27T12:23:17.740+08:00Just scrolling through everyone else's comment...Just scrolling through everyone else's comments it would seem that procrastination is a mini-epidemic (can you have a mini epidemic?) I definitely procrastinate and I know that when I do it is usually due to fear of failure; what if I don't do it well enough. I have to remind myself that not doing the task is the greatest failure of all. I've never blogged consistently but decided to jump in and commit to it. I created a website and hit go. Then my April schedule decided to go crazy on me -- with unplanned travel, long-planned conferences, client project deadlines all piling up. But I've been faithful and written every day. I thrive with deadlines, so having a daily deadline has been beneficial to me. I have proven to myself that I can write every day - if even just a short post. As a strategy coach for small nonprofits, I do know the benefits of having clear goals and actions steps, but am also very clear that the best laid plans fail if they are not put into practice. So, no more procrastinating. Sometimes procrastinating means it is something I probably shouldn't be doing - procrastination is a sign for me that I might want to reconsider the thing. I struggle to do two posts/week! I walked away from a job that was making me miserable too. I tend to procrastinate telling people something I think will be perceived as unpleasant. I tell myself I'm waiting for the right moment, but really it's so much better to just get it over and done. Each day I ask myself what is the most important thing I need to get done, and I do it first. I'm going to try adding, "What is the thing I am least looking forward to doing?" If it really needs to be done, I will do that next, instead of pushing it down the pile.Christie Hawkeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14897036282962474586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4722898771124083282.post-84068163397681413082018-04-25T07:44:19.306+08:002018-04-25T07:44:19.306+08:00Retweeting for MSTL.Retweeting for MSTL.Trisha Fayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14848362774277170679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4722898771124083282.post-65542071803220895072018-04-25T07:27:57.209+08:002018-04-25T07:27:57.209+08:00I've been too busy to procrastinate!
