THE STORY BEHIND CRESTING THE HILL

#http//:wwwcrestingthehill.com.au

WHY I STARTED MY BLOG

I started Cresting the Hill in 2014 to find my voice again and in the process I've connected with women all over the world who are celebrating midlife. If you feel like you're finally coming up for air after years/decades of being "all things to all people", then this is the place for you!

I used to define my life by saying I was a wife, or a mother, or by what I did as my profession. Now I define myself on my own terms - as a woman in my own right. I'm re-discovering who I am, and I'm really liking that person! It's like I've reached the "crest of the hill" in life, the climb is behind me and the view stretches out in front of me.

WHY YOU MIGHT ENJOY READING MY BLOG

If you feel like you need a new direction in life, or a breath of fresh air, then join me on this journey of re-creating ourselves. I aim to be a woman who is gracious and grateful, kind and considerate of others, fun and always having a smile to share, loving to my family and friends, and also knowing my boundaries and being true to myself.

I'll be sharing tips on how to find the sunshine in life, prompts on appreciating the many blessings that come our way, stories from my life and family, tips and hints about enjoying early retirement and the empty nest, and so much more. Please feel free to join the conversation in the comments section because connection is what midlife is all about. And if you'd like to stay up-to-date with my new posts, just fill in your details in the email box in my sidebar and you'll get a notice when a new blog post is published.

Thanks so much for being here and I hope you'll keep coming back to visit.

  1. I have just reached that point in my life, or at least the point where I am not 'mum' on a daily basis. The blog is helping me find a new me. #overthemoon

  2. Right on, Leanne! I love and appreciate the story behind your blog's name. I feel as though each "segment" of life is, in itself, a life. With that said, I recently began what I feel is my 8th or 9th life now. (I sound very hippy dippy when I say stuff like that, but I hope it makes sense to someone.) With each one of those segments or chapters behind me, I seem to have crested a hill that I couldn't see over before, but there's always a new hill to chase. Here's to the next crest and here's to seeing more of Cresting the Hill in 2016! Love your blog!
