5 THINGS I HATE

Five Things Friday ~ 5 things I hate

I've often written about 5 things I love, or 5 things that are fabulous, or 5 things I'm grateful for. So I thought (seeing I may be dying alone with my cat!) I'd do 5 things I hate to change things up a bit. So here they are, in no particular order.

5 THINGS I HATE

1. COLD MORNINGS

I’m not a morning person at the best of times. It's heading into Winter in Australia and while everyone is discussing Summer in the northern hemisphere, here the mornings are getting really cold and dark it makes getting out of my warm bed even harder.

2. DRAMA

The older I get, the less I can be bothered with pettiness and gossip and people getting worked up over minor issues. I’m also not a fan of loud opinionated people – I’m becoming a firm believer in “live and let live” and please keep your dramas to yourself.

3. BARKING DOGS

There’s just something in my OCD brain that gets riled when I hear a dog barking non-stop. It’s all I can do not to yell “shut!!! up!!!!” which would only make the situation worse. I’m sorry for the dog but sorrier for those of us who have to listen to it. I'm also sorry for the people who have to listen to me whinge about it too!

4. IGNORANT DRIVERS

To all those drivers in giant 4WD's and SUV's - please look around you and notice what other drivers are doing. Also, while you're at it, maybe use your indicator correctly and do the speed limit and don’t cut me off when you change lanes.

5. QUEUES

Especially in the supermarket when I’ve done my shopping and just want to pay for it and go home. I’m not a fan of queues at fast food places or movie theatres or anywhere else really – I just want to get where I’m going as quickly and smoothly as possible. And heaven help you if you try and cut in front of me!

  1. Totally agree about barking dogs. I have been known to call the cops. As for ignorant drivers that would include the guy who made a right turn from the left turn lane RIGHT In Front of ME.

    1. We came off a motorbike because a 4WD turned right from a left lane and cut us off - he didn't even notice and just kept driving - grrrr.

    1. I have a little Summer envy happening when I read US bloggers Mary Lou - they're all putting up lovely garden photos while we huddle next to our heaters - and those cold mornings are killers!

    1. I know! Our world seems to get louder and less considerate as time goes by - such a shame.

  4. Share several of these with you. I don't mind cold mornings except when it brings the killing frost and the end of our gardening season. And, with luck, that wont be for another four months. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    1. I'm enjoying all your lovely blooms on your blog Alana - they help balance out our cold mornings and fairly dingy garden atm :)

  5. I love a cold, crisp morning, but can I replace it with something else? I hate i hate cars that start beeping and bipping with the owner no where in sight.

    1. I've never really understood car alarms etc - nobody does anything about them when they go off and it doesn't seem to deter thieves - just drives the rest of us nuts!

  6. oh gosh, hate queues. Will never go see a big movie when it's first out because I don't want to stand in line, and I'm never one of those people standing in line for an NYC food trend, I am always more than happy to wait until the fuss dies down!

    1. I'm the same Bonnie - I'm happy to wait a week to see a movie if it means no queues and a bit of space on the seats between the other viewers!

  8. I can't stand the people that know a lane is ending up ahead and wait until the last second to merge. I will run off the road before I let one of those bastards in #fridayfriviolity

    1. Merging is a whole other story isn't it Jeremy? It should be so easy and yet it's fraught with idiots who get it completely wrong!

    1. I think I've decided my time is too valuable to queue up for something that isn't all that important - I'd rather go at a different time than stand in line - and people who are late and make you wait are just plain rude.
