MY FAVOURITE AUSSIE MIDLIFE BLOGGERS

If you're a Midlife (middle aged) woman looking for blogs to inspire you and encourage you in your 50's and 60's then here are some great Aussie Midlife blogs to follow. #midlife #blogging

AUSTRALIAN MIDLIFE BLOGGERS

A few years ago I wrote a post on 5 Aussie Midlife Bloggers and I noticed that things have changed a bit since then and it was time for an update. There are some fantastic women in their 50's and 60's (and even 70's!) who are writing blogs that inspire us all to live Midlife to the full and remind us that the second half of life can definitely be the best half of life.

Today I've compiled a list of my favourites, and you can click on their blog title to connect to their blogs if you'd like to read more:

LOVE, LAUGHTER, AND LIVING OUT LOUD

Midlife is the time to live loud, love yourself and others, and laugh every day. Don't waste a moment of this precious life you've been given. #liveloud #midlife

LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE

I have a sticker on the back window of my car that says: Live, Laugh, Love. (I thought about getting it as a tattoo but chose to be a little more conservative for now!)  It sums up for me how to make the most of each day - living with joy and appreciating those we love. Without some love or laughter in our life, things are pretty grey and sad. I know that there are times when we lose the fun in life, when we struggle and feel miserable, but that's not where we have to stay. Ultimately we'll move forward, we'll step out of our grief or stress or discomfort and life will bloom again.

Here's why I love those three little words so much.

OH FOR A BURNING PASSION TO PURSUE!

What do you do when you don't have a driving Passion? How do you go about finding something to inspire you to pursue a new direction? #passion #inspiration

WHAT IS MY PASSION?

After many, many years of being certain that those with a Passion were not my people, I've suddenly come to the realization that they might have been onto something that I've missed seeing. I'm finally admitting that I have a small amount of envy in my heart towards those clever people who have something they love doing and feel the need to pour all their energy into.

IS THERE LIFE AFTER LEAVING WORK?

I don't have a lot of physical clutter or junk because I'm a minimalist at heart, but I was carrying around a LOT of mental and emotional junk from my not-so-perfect job. #declutter #wellbeing

THE "PERFECT JOB"

A few years ago I thought I’d finally been offered the “Perfect Job” – great hours, great pay, great workplace, the perfect fit for me in Midlife. The only problem was that the old saying “if it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true” proved to be an “old saying” for a reason. I was told by another receptionist (after I started my job) that my employer paid well because they couldn’t keep staff. I scoffed at that initially and took it as jealousy on her part …..but ohhhh how right she was! The reason they couldn’t keep staff was because the lovely manager who employed me wasn’t as lovely as she appeared on the surface.

WHAT'S EVEN BETTER THAN HAPPINESS?

Happiness is promoted as our ultimate goal, but I've found something even better - peace, calm and contentment. #midlife #inspiration

WHAT AM I LOVING MORE THAN BEING HAPPY?

I had a strange feeling in my heart recently and I couldn't identify it for a while. It wasn't exactly sparkly happiness, or joyfulness, or elation, so what was it? It took me a little while to figure it out because it wasn't a feeling I was used to and it took me some time to put a name to it.

3 FACETS OF TRUE KINDNESS

The Virtues Project - The 3 facets of kindness - 1. Kindness to others 2. Kindness to our world 3. Kindness to ourselves #virtuesproject #kindness

KINDNESS HAS MORE THAN ONE FACE

When people talk about kindness they tend to focus on being kind to other people. The idea that we show compassion and concern for those closest to us and from there we spread it further afield. As I looked at "K" for Kindness in my List of More, I chose the definition from the Virtues Project as my starting point - and it opened my eyes to the fact that there's more than one facet to kindness.

DISCOVERING YOUR 6 CORE VALUES

Explaining why you need to know your 6 Core Values and how they apply to your decision making process. #midlife #values

WHAT DRIVES OUR DECISION MAKING?

As anyone who reads my blog knows, I've been thrashing around what to do next with my life. I talk about it a lot with my husband and I think he'd finally been talked to death, because he suggested I look at my core values because they'd help me to see why I was vacillating so much in my decision making.
