WHAT'S HAPPENING IN DECEMBER?

cresting the hill

IT'S DECEMBER ALREADY!

The year has zapped by and we're already heading into December - where did the time go? I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks because they lead up to Christmas - which is my favourite time of the year because it encompasses family, food and holidays - three things very close to my heart.

HOLI-HOLI-DAY

Before all that starts though, my lovely husband and I are off for a week's overseas holiday. It sounds like an exotic journey involving long plane flights and tropical islands - and we did consider that for awhile, but then we did an about face and decided to visit somewhere a little closer to home.

So, we're off to Rottnest - home of the quokka selfie, and no cars, lots of bicycles for hire, and a cosy place with a beach view. It is also overseas from Western Australia - and is about half an hour by ferry, so no airports, security checks, waiting around, aeroplane food, or other things I sincerely dislike - just a quick trip and we're on an island away from everyone else.

Lots of relaxing for me with some walking, cycling and eating thrown into the mix. Lots of water sports (surfing, diving, swimming) for my more athletic husband. And lots of chilling out and forgetting about work and other commitments (including blogging) for a week.

TO WRITE OR NOT TO WRITE? - THAT IS THE QUESTION

I was tossing up whether to try to write posts while I was away but wasn't sure about the wifi connection over there and whether I'd want to put down my book or get off my bicycle long enough to write anything. I also thought about not posting for the week ahead. But then I had an epiphany of sorts and thought I'd ask three of my favourite bloggers who run three of my favourite link parties, if they'd stop by and answer a few questions about themselves and the parties they run.

If you've never linked up a post, these are great places to start, if you link up elsewhere but you're looking for somewhere new, then it's a great chance to pop over and have a look. They all host parties that suit a variety of blogs and where there is good sharing and visiting - a great way to meet some new bloggers.

TO QUOTE ARNIE...."I'LL BE BACK"

I'll be back the following week with an update on our holiday and hopefully it will include a quokka or two, some sun, sea and surf, and some lovely scenery - and no seasickness on the way over! Until then.....
Hasta La Vista Baby!

    1. Hi Denyse - thanks for the holiday wishes! I love your Monday link-up but thought I'd spare you the extra work of a guest post while you're busy recovering from your latest round of surgery. Hope all's going well.

    1. Thanks so much - it's hard to believe we're actually on holidays soon - it's been a rather wearying year and the break will do us both good.

  9. Have a wonderful time, Leanne! I used to bring my lap top and blog while I was on vacations, but not any more. I realized I'm on vacation and that means no computers, no work, no obligations.

    1. I'll be bringing my laptop Pat, but it will be so I can check good old Facebook and email - nothing too strenuous, and if the wifi over there sucks then I really won't care either way.
