SATURDAY SNIPPETS #18

Saturday Snippets - where the best things I've seen on the itnernet come together in one place #Saturday #snippets #midlife

INTRO

Here's the latest little snippets from all over the place that caught my eye and I thought were worth sharing. I hope you enjoy them too - feel free to pin them or share them with other people if they resonate with you. I've turned off the comments on these posts because they're just a fun Saturday post to look at, enjoy and move on - hopefully with a smile on your face or with something to think about.

FOR STARTERS

I saw this quote on Facebook a while ago and loved how it resonated with my whole reason for blogging. It's about telling our stories, sharing our lives, learning with each other and growing. This quote just summed it up beautifully.

Tell your story, share yourself, discover your tribe #lifequotes

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

This quote from Linda Evangelista is one that is actually a mis-quote but still lives on in my mind 30 years after it was originally made. I love the self-confidence and the sense of knowing your own value that comes with it. I've used it myself (very tongue in cheek!) when it comes to explaining why I wouldn't work in a pathetically poorly paid job - I'm worth so much more than that!

We have this expression, Christy and I: We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day. Spoken in Vogue (1990) #famousquotes

FUNNY

I'm always so envious of people who look great in photos. There is a fine art to selfie taking and I've never discovered it. I loved this little cartoon from Hedger Humor because it's me to a tee!

And for those who love chips (or I'm sure you could substitute chocolate into this) I also had to share her great "pre-chips" cartoon too (it's become a new term in our house!)

Pre-chips - the chips you have before you have chips with dinner #humor

INTERESTING

I published this quote on my Facebook page a while ago and it really took off. Last time I looked it had reached over 10,000 views (a LOT more than my usual posts do!) I think it resonated on a level with people who are tired of listening to others moan and groan instead of being proactive - I can certainly relate to that! I thought I'd share it here if you missed it.

This is about the two choices life gives us - sulk or make the best of your situation. #inspirationalquotes

ONE LAST THING

A lesson I've taken a long time to learn is that my value isn't based on the opinion of others. Separating myself from that and learning that the only person who really has to like me is....me.... has been a revelation.

it's not your job to like me, it's mine. #lifequotes

I'll leave you on that positive note, and I hope you're following along with my AtoZ of the List of More - if you've missed any then here is my latest one O for being more Open in Life and you can follow the links at the end of that post for more.

Have a great weekend! xx
