5 GRATITUDE PRACTICES

5 GRATITUDE PRACTICES

My daughter went to an in-service training course a few weeks ago and shared with me the 21 Day Gratitude Practice they had been encouraged to do. It seemed like a great way to re-focus away from all the troubles in the world and to think about all the little blessings that come our way.

FIVE EASY GRATITUDE PRACTICES

Sometimes it's hard to be grateful when life overwhelms us, so here are five Gratitude Practices that I thought would be easy to do and could make life a little sweeter:

1
Take a few minutes to call someone you haven't talked to for a while and tell them they are appreciated.

2
Take a photo of a thing, person or place that you appreciate and share it on social media.

3
Stand in front of the mirror and find five things you appreciate about yourself - write them down.

4
Today look at the world with posititivity. Choose kindness and refrain from criticism.

5
Write a thank you note to a friend (or to yourself) focusing on what you are grateful for.

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Perhaps you have a few of your own Gratitude tips to add to these in the comments - if you do, I'd love to hear what they are.

  1. I've been wanting to do more of #5 lately! I bought a bunch of thank you cards on Amazon to send out to friends/family, but have yet to sit down and write them. Perhaps this weekend would be a good time. So they get them in time for Thanksgiving!

    1. I like the idea of tying them in with Thanksgiving Divya - it's a lovely way to add something special to an occasion - it might become a tradition for you!

    1. I love being a part of such a great group - I'm disappointed I didn't find you sooner, but I've only had a grandbaby for 6 months so I guess I only just qualified recently!

  4. Wow. These ideas are simple and surely looks like a good way to practice gratitude. I say thank you often. To the maid and also at the grocery store. I like it when their faces light up you know.

    1. Everybody likes to be appreciated and it's so easy to take them for granted. A simple thank you or a word of acknowledgement goes a long way :)

  5. This is a wonderful idea. I keep a gratitde journal and it is a wonderful practice for me. I write something that I'm grateful for every day in this journal. It gets easier to do this everyday. I love my journal and I love your idea. Thank you for sharing with the Blogging Grandmothers.

    1. I really need to start doing a gratitude journal - one thing a day is a good start and I like that it becomes easier (rather than harder) as time goes along!

  6. Leanne, great ideas. I really try to stay in that positive frame of mind and always start and end my day with making a mental gratitude list (a journal is just never going to happen!).

    1. I'm on the same page about the journal Jean - great intentions but haven't gotten there yet! But I've learned a positive mindset is the key to a much happier life :)
