INTRO
Here's the latest little snippets from all over the place that caught my eye and I thought were worth sharing. I hope you enjoy them too - feel free to pin them or share them with other people if they resonate with you. I've turned off the comments on these posts because they're just a fun Saturday post to look at, enjoy and move on - hopefully with a smile on your face or with something to think about.FOR STARTERS
It's been an interesting six months or so since I finally picked up the courage to quit my toxic job. I was worried how I'd go mentally and financially and I'm happy to report that life has surprised me with how much I'm enjoying retirement. Nobody knows what the future holds, but for now I'm definitely in my happy place.
And these words from Mandy Hale that were shared by A Thousand Petals sum it up beautifully - we don't have to know the ending, we just need to trust that we're on a journey to somewhere better than our current situation.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
These next two quotes (one from No Sidebar and the other from The Minds Journal) also tied in with the idea that life is short and we need to have the courage to choose what's best for us. I don't want to look back and feel like I missed out on opportunities because I wasn't brave enough to step out of my comfort zone.FUNNY
I'm in the process of shedding a few unwanted kilos - why are they SO easy to put on and SO hard to take off again??? So here are a couple of things that made me smile and I could totally relate to with Midlife and metabolism and wanting to eat but look great at the same time.INTERESTING
I've been a Brene Brown fangirl for a few years now - ever since she told us that being perfect wasn't a good thing. I went out and bought her book "The Gift of Imperfection" and it took such a load off my Oldest Child sense of obligation that I seem to carry around with me everywhere. So I thought I'd share an article on Brene's thoughts on Daring Greatly that I saved to my Favourites a while back.Article Link |
ONE LAST THING
I seem to be going through a bit of a Flamingo phase at the time being. I love the quote "I'm more Flamingo than Bingo" that a blogging friend said she saw on the side of the bus and I feel like it sums Midlife up beautifully. Then I came across a tee shirt that I just had to have because....well.... Nanamingo - what's not to love??Have a great weekend! xx
