Discovering the Pinterest Widget

As I mentioned in my last post - I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to using all the tools available on the internet. There are so many plug-ins and analytics tools and gadgets and widgets and so on and so forth. It swamps me a bit and I tend to err on the side of "less is more".

While I was playing around with the Pinterest Analytics tool that I only just discovered (yes I am a bit slow on the uptake) I also saw the Pinterest Widget maker and wondered what it did.

discovering the Pinterest widget - better late than never

I clicked on it (expecting it to be the Pinterest logo button but it was much prettier than that). So, once again, I went to good old faithful Google and had a look and found all the info I needed here on the Pinterest Widget Builder (of course!) It puts a really nice link to my Pinterest page on my blog - as you can see off on the side bar towards under my Archives, and it updates itself with my latest pins so it's always fresh.

I love discovering other Pinterest boards that reflect what I like to pin so it's been a really nice addition to my blog page (well I think so anyway) and it's also taught me that a "Widget" and a "Gadget" are pretty much the same thing - another little piece of info I didn't know....

My blog is almost six months old - boy hasn't time flown?? I have more time now that I'm not working - so it's time for a bit of a freshen up and re-vamp and this is the first little step along the way - stay tuned for my new look next week!
