  1. Letting go is the difficult part Leanne. People will always disappoint and sometimes I take things too much to heart. That's just me but I'm a work in progress. Love the quotes and have pinned. x

    1. I'm getting better at walking away Sue. Sometimes you have to know that you've done all you could and it's time to close the door (it may open again later down the track - but in the meantime we need to guard our hearts).

  2. Letting go is one of the hardest things you'll have to do. You went along for years thinking that you were leading the Life God put you here to do... Then all of the sudden it is done. Now what? My solution was to Cry out to God. It still took a long time to let go. That was not God's fault, I was arguing with him, thinking I had been where He put me. When I finally realized that He had another Purpose for my Life, I was slowly able to let go. So when something happens that is unexpected, I Pray and give it to God. He knows exactly what my purpose in life is, and where I need to be to accomplish it with His Help. As always, love your Post Leanne

    1. Thanks so much for visiting again Donna and what you say is absolutely true. You can't always do things in your own strength and sometimes the best thing is to give the person/situation to God and walk calmly away. I've found that sometimes it means you lose someone's friendship - but my thoughts circle back to how much they were really invested in the relationship when they can cause hurt and not seem to care.

  3. Wow. Wow. WOW. Did I ever need this post today, Leanne! Honestly, I am feeling VERY disappointed right now, which is why I clicked straight over here when I saw your link at #FridayFrivolity. I need to memorize #1 right this minute, and the reason I need to is a person who 100% fits the #5 bill! ;) So glad to meet you today! I am an immediate new fan because I'm living in midlife myself, and it's always nice to meet a fellow blogger who's also beyond the baby years. Heading to your Facebook page right now to like it! :) Thanks for the encouragement this morning!

    1. Thank you so much for your positive and kind words Elizabeth. I'm so sorry you're going through a time of disappointment. Believe me when I say I've been there a few times myself - that's why Number #5 rings so true to me! I do hope you'll pop back and visit and connect more - I love the friendships this blog has brought me - midlife has turned out to be so much better than I expected, and this blog has a lot to do with that. Loved you visiting and commenting - thanks again xx

  6. I have gotten better and letting go of disappointments. I see a lot of younger people really struggling with this. Age, maturity and perspective really do help.

    1. You are so right! It's one of the blessings of getting older - you realize that holding on to pain hurts you more and letting go is such a release. Acknowledging you got a raw deal and then putting it behind you is definitely the healthiest way to go.

  9. Dang, my comment disappeared :( Ok, let me do it again...I like all of these and they are all so true. Tried to pick the one I like the best but I like them all. Number 5 made me laugh and it is so, so true of some people. Thank you for partying with us at Blogging Grandmothers Link Party. I shared your post on my social media sites.

    1. #5 pretty much sums it up sometimes doesn't it Rena? When you've done all you can to mend bridges sometimes you have to just let it go and realize the other person may just be someone you can do without :)

    1. Hi Melissa - I hope next week is so good you don't need any of the quotes :) and thank you so much for enjoying what I write. I think it's good to have someone on the road ahead who can show you that it's all good in the direction you're heading. I wish I'd had someone telling me that midlife would be a great time to be alive x
