Discovering the Pinterest Widget |
As I mentioned in my last post - I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to using all the tools available on the internet. There are so many plug-ins and analytics tools and gadgets and widgets and so on and so forth. It swamps me a bit and I tend to err on the side of "less is more".
While I was playing around with the Pinterest Analytics tool that I only just discovered (yes I am a bit slow on the uptake) I also saw the Pinterest Widget maker and wondered what it did.
discovering the Pinterest widget - better late than never |
I clicked on it (expecting it to be the Pinterest logo button but it was much prettier than that). So, once again, I went to good old faithful Google and had a look and found all the info I needed here on the Pinterest Widget Builder (of course!) It puts a really nice link to my Pinterest page on my blog - as you can see off on the side bar towards under my Archives, and it updates itself with my latest pins so it's always fresh.
I love discovering other Pinterest boards that reflect what I like to pin so it's been a really nice addition to my blog page (well I think so anyway) and it's also taught me that a "Widget" and a "Gadget" are pretty much the same thing - another little piece of info I didn't know....
My blog is almost six months old - boy hasn't time flown?? I have more time now that I'm not working - so it's time for a bit of a freshen up and re-vamp and this is the first little step along the way - stay tuned for my new look next week!
Nice tip! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletethanks Claudette - it looked pretty - and I like pretty :)
DeleteInteresting.... I will check it out! And don't worry... you're among other dinosaurs...
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret - and my husband went looking for your e-book (win-win!)
DeleteRight with you, as far as having lots to learn and needing to re-vamp some things on my blog. Can't wait for your new look! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI loved yours when you did a revamp - I'm a bit tired of green so I thought a freshen up would be nice - hopefully I won't break anything :)
DeleteOh thank you Leanne! I didn't even know it existed. I have only been blogging for about 3 months so still trying to absorb the enormous amount of information I keep seeing. Thanks again. Sue from Sizzling Towards Sixty
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Sue - I thought it looked pretty and I like finding fellow Pinteresters :)
DeleteI love changing things up on my site. It's like moving the furniture around your house and giving it a whole new look! I have a great blogging tips board on pinterest.com/rm29303!
ReplyDeleteHi Rena - I like the idea of shifting the furniture - and I just followed your Pinterest board!
DeleteThanks for sharing this. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing on Pinterest! Looking forward to seeing your changes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lana - I love Pinterest for all the pretty pictures but thought I should start using it a little more "intentionally" - hopefully I'll figure it out as I go along!
