The world today is full of people who are different to us and have different expectations of us. If you spend your life trying to please everyone, making yourself smaller, or quieter, or less in some way then you limit yourself and your potential.
Let's celebrate the women God made us to be - let's be the best we are capable of being and get on with living life to the full. If we unintentionally hurt someone in the process, then we deal with that and make amends. If we bother people because they are narrow minded or uptight or miserable, then that is their issue and we have to let them deal with it.
This is the only life we have, we are the women we were created to be - let's get out there and get on with the business of living joyfully and abundantly!
Love your message, Leanne!
ReplyDeletethanks Corinne - I'm coming to realize that we need to embrace who we are - even if others want to water us down.
DeleteI also love this message. Not always easy to do for me, but I've been working on it. Be who you are. That's all we can be!
ReplyDeleteExactly Cathy - there comes a stage in life when we just need to be true to ourselves and not trying to fit into other people's boxes
DeleteI love this. I do not need to shine less brightly if you think I am shining too much in your eyes :-)
ReplyDeleteso true Carla - put on some sunglasses and enjoy the light we bring!
DeleteLove this thought and agree with it completely! :)

ReplyDeletethanks so much Rena xx
DeleteLove this in everyway-very uplifting.
ReplyDeletethanks - I just think we should be celebrating who we are and not dumbing ourselves down to fit other people's expectations.
DeleteI grade 11, the group of popular girls told me I was too loud and too rough. I was crushed and tried to reform myself to meet their (and, I supposed, everyone else's) expectations. Ended up going to a different school, because, let's face it - I'm me! The volume knob is stuck on full. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Diane - I think I would have been your friend in high school - you sound like you'd have been more fun than those other girls :)
DeleteGreat meme and amen to this!!
ReplyDeleteI just love the idea of being true to yourself - if not now then when!?
DeleteLove this Leanne! Such an important message.
ReplyDeletethanks Lana - we'll celebrate ourselves and leave the others to mind their business :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful message, one that I wish to follow no matter how hard the path or how many times I falter :)
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to get caught up with trying to make yourself into the person you think others want you to be - I'm finding that I don't want to do that anymore Nabanita - hope you do too :)
