a lot can happen in a year - it's my first blogiversary!

a LOT can happen in ONE year! My blog's first anniversary

I can't believe that it's been a year since I started this blog! The time has just flown past and what started as a place to put down a few thoughts, has turned into one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done. Who'd have thought that something so straightforward could have such a positive impact?

I have made so many blogging buddies and I've read so many posts from other bloggers - especially midlifers who are grabbing this stage of life and running with it. We are celebrating successful parenting and empty nests (or almost empty in some cases), life changes, work changes and so many other upheavals that make this such an exciting time
of life.

I look back at the first half of my life and now I think it was a preparation for this second stage. All the learning, and growing, and maturing, can all be mooshed together and turned into the second half where it's time to sit back and take a breath and start doing all the things that I put off for so long. One of those things is this blog. I hadn't written anything much - besides letters, emails and facebook updates - since my high school English classes. Taking a leap back into writing for fun has been the best decision ever. And now I get to being a whole year old in the blogosphere!

Plenty of long term bloggers are celebrating five, six or more years of doing this - I'm celebrating the fact that I can't believe I made it past five or six posts! A lot of the reason behind lasting for 12 months is the friends I've made and the support and encouragement I've received. So thanks to all you ladies who have cheered me on and shared the journey. I'm not sure if I will have enough words for another full year - but I bet I'll find them as time goes along!

I'm not yearning to be any bigger or better and I love my little blog. There won't be any big changes to the layout and I won't be moving on from Blogger any time in the near future. (I did a complete revamp when I hit the 6 month mark - that was when I started to have an idea of where I was going with all this blogging stuff!) Lately I've changed how often I post - my aim is to post a few times a week and have the weekends free to check in on everyone else. Please keep stopping by to catch up and comment because that's what I love the most and I'll be popping over to keep up with everyone else's news.

And if you haven't already, I'd love you to pop over and like my facebook page (you can click on the link on my sidebar or here if you prefer. xx)

  3. My favorite facet of this whole thing is that you look back on your first half of life and see how it prepared you for the second. I pray that transpires here as well.

    1. Me too Terri - I think the fb page was the next step because I didn't want to bombard my family and friends (who don't get the whole blogging thing) with my posts. Let me know when you have one and I'll be a liker :)

  20. Leanne, I love that you know what you don't want and that you are content with your blog. It never has to be more, it's perfect. Most bloggers don't make it a year so you are way ahead of the game, I love what you write, I connect to your words. I'm so happy that you found me or I found you, I'm really enjoying your spot on the web! Congratulations!!!
