MY THREE DELIGHTS FROM NOVEMBER

As I mentioned at the beginning of January when I chose "Delight" as my Word of the Year, I thought I'd round off each month with three delights.

MY NOVEMBER DELIGHTS

As I mentioned at the beginning of January when I chose "Delight" as my Word of the Year, I thought I'd round off each month with three delights. November is my birthday month, my blog's anniversary month, and one of my favourite times of the year.

So, without further ado here are my three delights from November...a group of delightful outings, a birthday delight, and a blogging delight, with a delightful quote to round it all up....

DELIGHTFUL OUTINGS

To celebrate my birthday, my lovely husband and I went out to a local cafe to try their lunch menu. The day was glorious, the sun was shining, the food was delicious, and the company was delightful. Then a couple of days later it was time for lunch with some of my family, and then a coffee date with my sister-in-law on the Friday. It felt like a really lovely week - that rounded out with family time on the weekend (see my next Delight!)

DELIGHTFUL FAMILY TIME

Birthdays are always a great reason to get together with our kids and grandgirls, so off we went for a visit to the city. Morning tea together and then lunch outside under blue skies and shady trees - I love this late Spring weather. The hours raced by, but it's always lovely to spend time with them all....and add in some thoughtful gifts, roses from our daughter's garden, and handmade cards from the grandgirls - absolutely delightful.

DELIGHTFUL BLOGGING

My final delight for the month was realizing that it's been 11 years since I decided to jump into the great unknown and started a blog. From complete ignorance of what blogging was, to figuring it out step by step, to making my first connections, to making some pocket money, to making friends with wonderful Midlifers who inspire me every single day.

Blogging has made my Midlife so much "more" in so many ways. So much in fact that I'm writing a whole post about it next week, and I hope you'll pop in for a read and to leave a comment if you're feeling brave. See you there!

A QUOTE ABOUT LIVING DELIGHTFULLY

How lovely is this quote? Bold, unbridled joy in all those little ways we don't expect....

    1. Hi Yvonne - thanks for your kind words, and yes, family is lovely and I'm so grateful for the times we get together. Those times aren't as often as I'd like, but that's what happens when our kids move away from home and have busy lives of their own - but I'll take the opportunities whenever I get the chance to see them. :)

    1. Hi Sue - thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. Sometimes my world feels a little less than warm and happy - but that's where focusing on the good helps to remind me that small irritations are nothing compared with the big picture of life - and it is such a blessing to live so well. x
